How can we improve digital signposting for young people?

About this event

Search engines currently focus on sharing consumer-oriented content which means that vital information for young people is not as accessible as it needs to be.

Join us online as we share learning from our digital and data infrastructure project, Signpost +. We aimed to build on our knowledge from the project’s first phase by collaborating with experts who provide digital signposting through different delivery models. We conducted a series of tests on the models with young people, to better understand their experiences navigating the complex web of information online and identify where improvements can be made.

At this event, we will share:

  • An introduction to the 6 areas of good practice on how signposting can be improved
  • User research insights and feedback from young people on models of signposting
  • A view on challenges and opportunities through a panel discussion with digital and data stakeholders.

Speakers

The event will be co-hosted by Jenny Lowthrop, Founder and Director of Feel Good Do Good and Tris Lumley, Director of Innovation and Development at NPC.

You will hear from our collaborative partners:

We will also be joined by Anna Dent from Promising Trouble who will share their research on essential digital support for young people.

Accessibility

We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our online and in-person events. As part of our commitment, for all online events we use live closed captions and upload the recordings to YouTube which has the capability to select subtitles. For in-person events we strive to use accessible venues. If you have any additional accessibility requirements that we can assist with, please email us at Events@thinkNPC.org.
