Karen Scanlon

Karen is NPC’s Principal: Funder Impact and the Programme Manager for the Youth Investment Fund Learning Project. The Fund is a four-year collaborative project with the Centre for Youth Impact (CYI) supported by government funding from DCMS and National Lottery funding from Big Lottery Fund. Eighty-six youth providers are being supported for three-years (2017–2020) to develop and expand their open access youth provision, and NPC and CYI are working them to design an evaluation approach that captures the value of their work, and supports their learning and improvement.

She is responsible for managing and delivering this programme of work—in particular developing evaluation capacity building within organisations, developing and implementing a shared evaluation approach, as well as impact and process evaluation strands.

Karen has a particular interest in health and impact management, having had experience of supporting charities through theory of change processes and developing effective impact measurement frameworks.

Before joining NPC, she was Head of Evidence and Impact at Breast Cancer Care and is currently Secretary of the Charities Evaluation Working Group.
